MARINO COMBINES STYLES FOR MAJOR IMPACT
Singer/pianist Diane Marino combines sophisticated, intense solos
and elegant, expressive vocals in a distinctive and exciting
fashion, making her one of Nashville’s finest jazz artists.
In addition, she also exceeds in another related, yet also different
arena – Brazilian music. Her newest CD On The Street Where You Live
blends standards with outstanding versions of bossa nova and samba;
the latter all sung in Portuguese.
Like so many other top Nashville jazz players, Diane Marino is
better known nationally than locally. Her 2003 release “A Sleepin’
Bee” cracked the top 20 on national jazz charts despite being an
independently produced release, earning her wide-spread press and
positive reviews. Both that disc and the current “On The Street
Where You Live” also spotlight her outstanding piano playing, which
is far more than just decorative accompaniment behind the leads.
